About Shawn

with "Glee" star Cory MonteithShawn Tempesta an Emmy nominated television and radio host from Boston, Massachusetts. Currently co-host of “The Morning Blend” on KTNV-TV (ABC) as well as weekend talent on Mix 94.1 (KMXB-FM) in Las Vegas, Nevada, Shawn most recently served as co-host of “The Rhode Show” on WNAC-TV (FOX) in Providence, Rhode Island as well as on-air at Mix 104-1 (WBMX-FM) in Boston.

Shawn’s fascination with television & radio began in his bedroom, watching television and idolizing local news anchors and television hosts like then-“Double Dare” host, Marc Summers. With a karaoke machine, a boombox, and 4 CD’s, Shawn began making “airchecks” at age 12.

with Mandy MooreBy age 14, Shawn was heavily involved in his local public access station, producing programming, and booking interviews with stars like Britney Spears and members of New Kids On The Block. In 1999, Shawn auditioned for and was chosen to be a news anchor on the final season of “Kids Talk Sports”, working alongside Aneesh Raman, who would later go on to be a correspondent for CNN.

After graduating from The New England Institute of Art in 2004, Shawn began his first on-air DJ position at 98.3 WLNH in Laconia, New Hampshire. Months later, he added a second on-air shift on Fun 107 (WFHN-FM) in New Bedford, Massachusetts. His work with these stations helped prepare him for his next station, Mix 94.1 (KMXB-FM) in Las Vegas, Nevada, where Shawn was on-air for two years, collecting 4 awards for his on-air and off-air work.

Shawn returned to Boston in 2007 to fulfill his dream of broadcasting to his hometown at Mix 98-5 (WBMX-FM). He also briefly served as a contributor on the entertainment news-magazine show, “Backstage” on The Comcast Network.

with Rhode Show FinalistsIn 2008, Shawn nailed his audition and nabbed the co-host position on “The Rhode Show”, a daily entertainment and lifestyle show on the FOX affiliate in Providence, Rhode Island. Shawn slid into his role easily, helping to launch the show which within one year increased ratings in the timeslot 600% year-to-year and regularly beat “The Early Show” and “Good Morning America”.

In 2010, Shawn returned to Las Vegas to co-host “The Morning Blend” on KTNV-TV, Vegas’ ABC affiliate. Alongside fellow co-host Dao Vu, the show, much like “The Rhode Show”, is a live morning show focusing on lifestyle, entertainment, and more! The show premieres July 6th, 2010. He also re-joined his alma mater, Mix 94.1, as weekend on-air talent.

Shawn has had the opportunity to interview several celebrities, including Britney Spears, Ryan Seacrest, Simon Cowell, Ernest Borgnine, Nick Lachey, Finger Eleven, Alan Thicke, The Fray, Martin Short and Howie Mandel.

Baby Picture, 1984His un-matched exuberance, unique sense of humor, and ability to calm even the most nervous of interviewees, allow Shawn to be able to host any show or event with ease. He is a member of the Boston Chapter of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA).

Shawn admits to being a “Nickelodeon Game Show Historian”, having religiously watched the network during the mid 1990′s. You can find him cruising around the streets of Las Vegas singing “Bohemian Rhapsody” as loudly as possible at unsuspecting vacationers, being an over-all nerd (from XBox to iPhone), and attempting to write website biographies in third person.
