READY TO BUY A BETTER ALARM CLOCK

Since I was a kid, I’ve wanted to be on television or radio – and today I get to do both. For over a decade, I have hosted a daily morning television show on the ABC affiliate in Las Vegas, along with being the longest-tenured afternoon show host on Mix 94.1, bringing the show, and station, to new heights.

I am ready for a new challenge: Morning Radio.

There is no better medium than radio to create that emotional connection with your market, and I am ready to work my ass off to create a sticky show that will have listeners returning again and again, on-air, online and on-demand. A show that is hilarious, has heart, and listeners can relate with.

THE MAN BEHIND THE FOREHEAD

Almost from the jump, I knew I wanted to work in media. Glued to my television at age 6 watching the local news and “Double Dare”, it dawned on me – “Whoa! That’s a job?!”. Since then, I’ve been hooked. I told my older next door neighbor in the projects that I’d work on air one day, and she said “Don’t you think that’s aiming kind of high”. My career has been my long response to that.

I started in public access at age 8, started making radio airchecks with a karaoke machine at age 11, and started my own television show at 14. My airchecks would be played on a loop for my father and my elementary school music teacher who ended up being my first PD of sorts.

After escaping high school, I interned every semester at a different media outlet in the Boston area, graduated college, and started picking up part-time hours at small markets outside of Boston. A failed MySpace date in 2005 (it’s a long story) led me to Las Vegas’ Mix 94.1 as webmaster and part-time onair, working on every daypart and loving every second of it. Boston came calling in late 2007, returning to my hometown for weekend shifts at Mix 104.1, and soon after nailing an open audition to co-host “The Rhode Show” on WPRI-TV in Providence, Rhode Island – one of the best years of my life, which also earned me an Emmy nomination.

In 2010, a return to Las Vegas brought me to KTNV-TV, Las Vegas’ ABC affiliate, to host “Las Vegas Morning Blend”, as well as host afternoons at Mix 94.1 – a position I have held longer than anyone else in the station’s history. Whether it’s onair, online, designing station vehicle wraps, remote setups, television commercials, streamlining music meeting research and more – there is no job I cannot tackle.

Personally, I am the proud father to two amazing boys, Colin (4) and Mario (2), husband to the incredibly patient Marsha, and pet-dad to three sweet rescue animals – my dog Pesky and cats Niki and Violet.

If you’ve been looking for a positive, charismatic, “mayor” type with a quick witted sense of humor and unmatched work ethic, you’ve found your man.

SOCIALLY UNACCEPTABLE

BRINGING SOCIAL VIDEO TO THE NEXT LEVEL

Since February 2019, I have self-funded and produced a daily, hyper-interactive live streaming video show along with my afternoon radio show called #Free4All!

It captures listeners that might be hanging around Facebook and not listening. More face time hasn’t hurt, with ratings increasing, video views on the station’s Facebook page growing exponentially, and the product being widely regarded as the best use of video for radio in the industry.

The opportunity for logo inclusion and sales integration is through the roof, and clips from the show have already garnered interest from clients! And the audience loves and supports this show and the mission – helping us raise over $13,000 for St Jude Children’s Research Hospital with no radio promotion!

Best of all – it’s all mine! It comes with me wherever I go! The potential for this to create viral, shareable clips and more importantly, create a new revenue stream, is immeasurable.

WHAT I’VE BEEN UP TO.

“(Shawn’s #Free4All) is a god damn masterpiece. Everything about it from a production standpoint is completely top of the line, and should be what ever station strives for in their videos. You’re truly the bar every station in the country is trying to reach.”

Garrett, Program Director in Ohio

“Shawn is one of the most creative on-air talent I’ve ever worked with… It is hard to imagine doing the show without him.”

Jim Koonce, Creative Service Director, KTNV-TV Las Vegas

“Shawn shows tremendous respect for the people he works with and people he comes in contact with outside the station.”

Julie Pyle, Executive Producer of The Morning Blend, KTNV-TV Las Vegas

“(Shawn’s #Free4All) is top notch and is where we all should be moving towards as radio evolves.”

J. In Nevada

“Tempesta out-Reeges Reege. Hyperactive as a puppy on a sugar high, Tempesta is just as amusing… flashing a smile that threatens to fracture his face.”

Steve Bornfeld, Las Vegas Review Journal

“Shawn goes out of his way to make everyone who appears on the show feel like a star… He’s the on-air glue that holds a show together.”
