When I was 14, I started a public access television show called “The Show”. It was the most creative name I could come up with for a show that was, frankly, whatever I decided to do that month. I was about to do a live show, and I was racking my brain to figure out how to add some “wow” factor to my show which was thus far starring four classmates who were massive *NSYNC fans.

My thought? I reached out to Candy O’Terry from Boston’s powerhouse AC station, Magic 106.7. She did a phoner at the top of the show, was incredibly gracious, and even sang the legendary Magic jingle. As the nerd I was (and continue to be), I thought this was the coolest thing on the planet. Little did I realize, 22 years later, I would be a part of the station.

(A brief aside, anyone that would take time out of their show to entertain a barely-pubescent kid’s public access show is a saint. Candy, I’ll never forget you doing that. So cool.)

Anyone who knows Boston radio knows since Magic hit the airwaves in 1982, it has been an absolute at-work juggernaut. It continues to this day with an incredible cast of Boston media mainstays… David O’LearySue TabbKendra PetroneKaren Blake and the man responsible for providing the soundtrack to many of the area’s conceptions, the incomparable David Allan Boucher. The fact that, even for a moment, I am on the same station as these people is, in a word, asinine. In another word, humbling.

I cannot thank Steve SalhanyMatt BossoMark HannonMike Mullaney and the team at Entercom Boston enough for letting me a part of this franchise, and I hope to do it justice!
